Fashion Week is always a spectacle—but this year, it came with four wheels, French flavours, and a bold splash of colour.
Style Machine had the pleasure of arriving at Australian Fashion Week not just in style, but in a rolling work of art, thanks to the colourful collaboration between MINI, Monaco-based artist Alan Walsh, and Sydney MINI Garage. The city may be known for its laid-back cool, but this partnership dialled things up to Côte d’Azur levels of chic.

Three bespoke MINI vehicles—each wrapped in Alan Walsh’s unmistakable, Riviera-inspired artwork—served as the official transport for media, IMG talent, and VIPs zipping between shows, showrooms, and the after-dark set. We were lucky enough to ride along, and let us tell you: there’s something magical about being dropped off front row at Carriageworks in a car that turns heads faster than the runway looks.

Walsh’s art—an intoxicating blend of saturated colour, vintage silhouettes and luxe minimalism—transformed each MINI into a canvas that captured the essence of modern glamour. From the curves of the MINI Countryman to the sleek lines of the Aceman Electric Crossover, each vehicle pulsed with the energy of the French Riviera while gliding through Sydney’s urban edge.
“This collaboration is about fusing movement, creativity and hospitality—the same elements that fuel both the fashion and automotive industries,” Walsh shared. And it shows. These weren’t just cars—they were stories in motion.
But the journey didn’t end there. Post-show, we were whisked across town in our chauffeured MINI to Franca, Potts Point’s beloved European brasserie and an art-deco dream that perfectly complements Walsh’s vision. Inside, the ambience mirrored the same elegance found on the MINI exteriors—refined, artistic, and unapologetically stylish.

And the food? Spectacular. The Moreton Bay bugs, served with a subtle citrus twist, melted on the tongue. But it was the signature gnocchi—pillowy soft, rich in flavour, and utterly unforgettable—that stole the spotlight. Every detail, from plate to plating, echoed the same sensibility that drives MINI’s design ethos: classic meets bold, with a dash of the unexpected.
Franca’s Managing Director Andrew Becher put it perfectly:
“At Franca, we strive to create an atmosphere where art, design and hospitality interact—and this partnership truly embodies that mission.”
And embody it they did. The collaboration wasn’t just about art on cars or food on plates—it was a full-circle sensory experience. MINI’s Dealer Principal Shane Parkins summed it up with pride:
“These MINIs are more than just cars—they’re statements of creative expression, innovation, and individuality.”

The Alan Walsh x MINI fleet continues to roam Sydney streets during AFW, with Alan’s full art collection on display at Art+ Gallery in Potts Point for those wanting to experience more. Whether you’re a fashion lover, art enthusiast or car connoisseur, this collaboration is a celebration of what happens when great design drives the journey.
And yes—we’re already manifesting a MINI for keeps. Preferably with Walsh’s art on it.
