Some anniversaries call for a party. Cotton On is marking theirs with a denim range instead.
The Australian retailer has just launched Edition 91, a new denim campaign and collection that nods back to 1991, the year Cotton On’s own denim story began. It’s part throwback, part relaunch, and it lands with a collection built around the low-rise, wide-leg and straight silhouettes currently dominating the denim conversation.
The campaign
The Edition 91 imagery leans into an easy, off-duty energy. A group of four friends piled onto a concrete ledge in a mix of light and dark wash denim sets the tone, all worn-in fits, folded cuffs and a palette that moves from bleached blue through to indigo. A second shot zeroes in on the detail that makes the range feel authentic to its 90s reference: a low-slung, button-fly waistband paired with a cropped tee, distressing included.

The pieces to know
Four styles anchor the collection, each priced at AUD $69.99 and available now at cottonon.com/AU.
The 91 Straight Jean in Calmwater Blue is the range’s most true-to-original fit: a classic straight leg in a mid blue wash designed to be worn low.

For anyone chasing the wider leg that’s been everywhere this year, the Low Rise Wide comes in two washes, a crisp White and a soft Ash Grey, both cut with the same low-rise waistband and a fuller leg that pools at the ankle.

Rounding out the edit is the Low Straight in Palmside Blue, a lighter, sun-washed blue that splits the difference between the straight and wide silhouettes
Edition 91 is a smart move for Cotton On. Rather than chasing the next micro-trend, the brand is leaning on its own archive, using 1991 as a credibility marker in a denim market where authenticity and heritage now sell harder than newness alone. For shoppers, it means an accessible, well-priced entry point into the low-rise and wide-leg styles currently leading denim, without the price tag of the labels that started the trend.
