As London Fashion Week SS25 comes to a close, the runways have offered up some of the most wearable yet striking trends we’ve seen in a while. Designers shifted their focus toward practicality without sacrificing style, giving us pieces that blend everyday wearability with high fashion flair. Here are the six standout trends you’ll want to embrace for spring/summer 2025.

1. Puffball Skirts
An ode to nostalgia, the puffball skirt made a dramatic return to the runway. Simone Rocha, in particular, showcased this retro-favourite with a chic update in dusky pink satin. The voluminous shape, once iconic in the 80s, is back for SS25, adding a playful twist to feminine silhouettes. It’s fun, flirty, and perfect for making a statement without trying too hard.

2. Expert Draping
Designers like Karoline Vitto and Standing Ground offered a masterclass in draping this season. Vitto celebrated body diversity with flowing, supportive jersey pieces that accentuated natural curves, while Standing Ground gave us Grecian-inspired gowns with artful twists and folds. Draping is set to be the go-to for effortless elegance this season.

3. Double Denim
Denim lovers, rejoice! Marques’Almeida brought double denim back with a bang, showcasing a range of washes from classic blue to acid tones. Whether you prefer a full denim-on-denim look or subtle layering, this trend gives an edgy, laid-back vibe that’s perfect for transitioning from day to night. It’s the ultimate blend of comfort and cool.

4. Muses from Beyond
This season, designers looked to the past for inspiration. Emilia Wickstead’s collection was influenced by photographer Gisèle Freund, featuring androgynous cuts and textural contrasts, while Erdem took cues from Radclyffe Hall’s The Well of Loneliness, blending masculine and feminine elements. The result? Thoughtfully layered designs with a rich historical narrative.

5. In the Trenches
The iconic trench coat remains a wardrobe staple, and SS25 saw designers giving it exciting new twists. Burberry reimagined the classic trench in everything from floral PVC to utilitarian styles, while 16Arlington offered buttery leather versions perfect for throwing over party dresses. Erdem also added a soft touch with trenches in pastel hues like blush, blue, and yellow.

6. Sex Appeal
For SS25, designers embraced a playful yet sophisticated take on sexiness. 16Arlington delivered cheeky hot pants and sheer slips, while Nensi Dojaka is known for her signature sculptural silhouettes. And this season, she took it a step further via renewed forms of naked dressing. With a new Calvin Klein collaboration, These looks play with flirtation and mystery, creating an alluring vibe without overexposure.
