Last week the Style Machine team got to use the newest technology in in skin care GP Skin. Developed and made in Korea, and now launching in Australia this month, the GPSKIN Remedy tool, RRP $690 can not only provide a complete skin analysis in just 10 seconds, and it also fulfils 4 core treatments to improve skin including high frequency, Microcurrent, Iontophoresis and 4 LED therapy.

Dr Shreya, leading dermatologist, who lead us through the tech and we also asked a few questions around how best to keep your skin glowing!

What role do you think consistency plays in achieving optimal skin health, and how can GPSKIN? treatments help patients establish a regular skincare routine?

Consistency is key when it comes to optimising skin health. Most skincare ingredients require regular use in order to achieve noticeable results, including retinol, vitamin C, Niacinamide, AHAs and BHAs. The use of iontophoresis can help to “push” skincare ingredients deeper into the skin thus making them more effective.

Are there any specific skin conditions or concerns that you recommend GPSKIN treatments for, and why?

These treatments can be performed on all skin types. The addition of AI helps to assess your skin and individualise treatments.

What are the benefits of incorporating GPSKIN? treatments into a skincare routine, and how do they complement professional treatments and product use?

At-home devices are not a replacement for in-clinic treatments, however, they can help to maintain results between treatments and also to potentially increase time between treatments.

What key features of GPSKIN stand out to you as a dermatologist, and what makes them particularly effective or noteworthy in your opinion?

As far as I am aware, there is no other at home device in Australia that combines LED, microcurrent, radiofrequency and iontophoresis. These are technologies that we use regularly in clinic and we know they are effective. I love the addition of AI in assessing the skin barrier as well as hydration so that treatments can be customised as skin care is never one-size-fits-all.

The 4 treatments when using the device include:

  1. High Frequency
  • Alternating current stimulates tissue
  • Molecular vibration generates heat through friction to stimulate the dermis
  • Enhances skin elasticity to reduce fine wrinkles
  1. LED Therapy
  • Red LED generates and rejuvenates the skin
  • Green LED calms the skin to enhance radiance
  • Blue LED sterilises, targeting acne-causing bacteria
  • Yellow LED provides multifaceted approach with glowing, soothing, and regenerating effects on the skin
  1. Microcurrent
  • Utilising low-frequency weak currents for muscle stimulation
  • Enhances resilience of ageing skin, focusing on delicate areas prone to wrinkles
  • Promotes lymphatic and blood circulation
  1. Iontophoresis
  • Iontophoresis alters skin’s electrical environment
  • Enhances penetration of ionized substances like Vitamin C
  • Targets melanin cell layer for skin brightening and regeneration
  • Activates skin cells, improves elasticity and aids in acne scar regeneration
