When choosing a clutch or bag, what’s your advice on choosing the best one for you?
First, consider the occasion and the outfit’s vibe. I always say that everything we wear it’s like “an extension of our personality”, it should reflect your individuality and bring you confidence and style. So, trust your instincts.
I’m all in for sparkles and glamour, but if the occasion is a casual lunch, I’d choose something like a crossbody or a mini tote. Maybe save the dazzling, crystals, and rhinestones for those evening events where it can truly steal the spotlight to make a statement.
Which accessory is your favourite from your range?
Oh, that’s a hard one! But I guess the ULA clutch holds a special place in my heart as being one of my first designs when I’ve launched Katherineland. The shell shaped inspiration it’s like a piece of my journey; from Brazil to Australia.
What are 3 items you think every wardrobe needs?
I will have to keep saying all those cliché favourites: the classic trio:
The timeless white shirt, a perfect pair of jeans and a sleek black blazer. The combinations are endless.
Colours or Neutrals?
I’m all about the colours! You can be safe with neutrals but there’s something magical about rocking a wardrobe that’s bursting with life. Give me the bold, the vibrant! When I’m in colours I feel like wearing a mood booster every day.
What is one item you can’t live without in your wardrobe?
I would say: a killer dress! Either black or white. If you know me, you know I’m the queen of dresses. The versatility for me is unmatched – throw on a dress, and you’ve got an entire outfit in one swoop. It’s like fashion magic. You just have to play with some accessories, and you can go from casual chic during the day to a showstopper at night! Easy!
You always push the boundaries in your style and tell a story with fashion, how would you describe your process in putting an outfit together?
I usually start by selecting my statement piece; it could be an amazing pair of shoes, a bold clutch or a standout clothing item. From there, it’s like a creative dance, all about storytelling.
Then, I build around it, selecting elements to complement the story. Whether it’s playing with colours, layers, balancing textures. It doesn’t always tell the exactly story I envisioned, but it’s always a fun process. As fashion should be.
What do you carry in your bag on a night out?
Being a mini bag/clutch fan myself; it has usually room for only the essentials: keys; card/ID and a lip gloss!
What’s the best way to style accessories to an outfit?
I believe fashion is all about expressing our unique style. If you feel empowered with layers of accessories, go for it!
Try mixing metals to create that dynamic, edgy vibe. Whether it’s layering silver and gold necklaces or stacking various bracelets. If you’re new to the game; maybe think of styling accessories like an art of balance.
If your outfit is already a statement, opt for subtle accessories that enhance without overpowering. If your outfit is more neutral, don’t be afraid to let your accessories take center stage.
Also, don’t be afraid to add pops of colour. Whether it’s a statement clutch, a bold pair of earrings, or some vibrant shoes, to me, colours always bring life and personality to any outfit.
Who is your style crush?
I have a few, but nowadays, I would say that I’m in love with the everyday glamour of Leonie Hanne.
And finally, what do you think some of the hot trends for accessories are going to be, anything we should invest in?
My top picks would be: Chunk Earrings, Cuffs, Textured Bags and Retro Sunglasses.
