‘My love affair with blazers began when I was just 18 years old, and it’s been a staple in my wardrobe ever since.’

What is one fashion trend you absolutely love, even if it goes in and out of style?
For me, that trend would undoubtedly be the blazer. My love affair with blazers began when I was just 18 years old, and it’s been a staple in my wardrobe ever since. I have a particular fondness for oversized blazers, even during times when they may not be the hottest trend on the runway. What draws me to blazers is their versatility – they effortlessly elevate any outfit, whether it’s paired with jeans for a casual look or layered over a dress for a more polished ensemble. Plus, there’s something empowering about the structured silhouette of a well-fitted blazer that makes me feel confident and put-together no matter the occasion.
What is one item in your wardrobe that you cherish the most, and what is the story behind it?
It’s challenging to pinpoint just one item in my wardrobe that I cherish above all else. While I do have sentimental attachments to certain pieces like my wedding dress and rings, I’d say my overall wardrobe holds a special place in my heart. Each garment tells a story, reflecting different moments in my life and the evolution of my personal style. I derive immense joy from curating looks and experimenting with different combinations, and my wardrobe serves as a canvas for self-expression. So, rather than singling out a specific item, I cherish the entirety of my wardrobe for the confidence and creativity it inspires in me every day.
Who is your all-time favourite fashion icon, and how have they influenced your style?
Sienna Miller stands out as my ultimate fashion icon, particularly her portrayal in the movie Alfie. Her boho-chic aesthetic and free-spirited vibe captivated me during my formative teenage years. I vividly recall scenes of her effortlessly pulling off eclectic ensembles, from oversized floppy hats to neon handbags and miniskirts. Sienna embodied a unique blend of laid-back glamour and edgy sophistication that resonated with my own sense of style. Her influence encouraged me to embrace individuality and take risks with fashion, ultimately shaping my approach to dressing with confidence and flair.
Are there any figures outside the fashion industry who inspire your work and ethos, and how do they influence you?
Beyond the realm of fashion, one figure who profoundly influences my work and ethos is Tony Robbins. Known for his expertise in personal development and business acumen, Robbins embodies a holistic approach to success that transcends industry boundaries. I’m particularly drawn to his unwavering commitment to personal growth and his ability to communicate with compassion and clarity. Robbins’ teachings underscore the importance of integrity, intentionality, and continuous self-improvement, principles that I strive to integrate into both my professional endeavours and personal life. His example reminds me that true fulfilment comes from aligning one’s actions with values and consistently striving for growth and excellence.
As a successful figure in fashion, what do you see as your primary responsibility in being a role model to aspiring designers?
I believe my primary responsibility as a role model to aspiring designers is to lead by example and foster a culture of integrity, intentionality, and self-development within the industry. By embodying these values in my work and interactions, I aim to inspire emerging talents to prioritise authenticity, ethical practices, and continuous growth. I also recognise the importance of sharing insights, experiences, and resources to support the next generation of designers on their journey toward success. Ultimately, my goal is to empower aspiring designers to cultivate their unique voices, navigate challenges with resilience, and make meaningful contributions to the fashion landscape.
Being someone who embraces fashion, in your opinion, what’s the difference between fashion and style and which do you prioritise?
Distinguishing between fashion and style is a nuanced endeavour, but if I were to distil it down, I’d say that fashion tends to be more transient and trend-driven, while style is enduring and deeply personal. Fashion encompasses the ever-evolving landscape of garments, designs, and aesthetic preferences that dominate the industry at any given time. On the other hand, style reflects an individual’s distinctive expression of self through clothing, encompassing preferences, values, and personality. While I certainly appreciate the excitement and creativity of fashion, I prioritise cultivating a personal style that reflects my identity, values, and mood. For me, style transcends fleeting trends, serving as a powerful form of self-expression and a means to foster confidence and authenticity.
What’s your go-to outfit for a day when you want to feel both comfortable and stylish?
My go-to outfit for a day when I want to feel both comfortable and stylish is a mini skirt paired with a cute kitten heel. I like to layer it with a blazer and a vest, playing with textures and colours to create a chic yet cosy look.
As someone who has broken boundaries in both business and fashion, where do you see the intersection of lifestyle, technology, and fashion heading in the next five years?
In the next five years, I see the intersection of lifestyle, technology, and fashion evolving significantly. AI will play a huge role, initially focusing on tasks like customer care and content creation. However, as we navigate through initial challenges, AI will be utilised in more innovative and beneficial ways. Automation will increase, and there might be consolidation of multi-brand websites. Virtual reality (VR) experiences, such as showroom experiences online, could become more prevalent, enhancing the interactive aspect of fashion retail. Personally, while I appreciate the importance of personal touch, I’m intrigued by the potential of VR to mimic it with integrity, offering unique and engaging online experiences.
What’s your favourite fashion season, and what trends or pieces are you most excited to wear for it?
My favourite fashion season is winter. I love the opportunity to layer clothing and play with different styles, such as big coats paired with sunglasses or leather jackets with motorcycle boots. Winter allows me to express my personality through fashion more freely. However, despite my fondness for winter fashion, I often find myself yearning for the freedom of summer attire. Nonetheless, I’m definitely a coat and boot girl, with my wardrobe tailored more towards colder weather.
Which upcoming fashion trends are your excited about that you will incorporate into your personal wardrobe?
One trend I’m excited about and plan to incorporate into my personal wardrobe is the resurgence of tights. I’ve invested in coloured tights, including red, white, grey, brown, and pink, even considering a pair of white lace tights. I’m eager to experiment with layering them under big coats and pairing them with miniskirts for a fresh look. Additionally, while I typically avoid jumping on TikTok trends, I’m drawn to the mob wife trend, which aligns with my love for big coats and shearling jackets. Other trends I’m looking forward to include the return of big sunglasses and the resurgence of the mini skirt. Overall, I enjoy exploring trends while staying true to my personal style, which I’ve been refining within different brands’ aesthetics.
